Meet Our New Interns In Q1 2023!
We have had the pleasure of welcoming new team members who joined us as Intern Associates and have been helping us support our objectives throughout the first quarter of 2023. We invite you to get to know them and their experience at PATA!
Chan Hiu Mei (Mary) – Marketing Intern
Greetings from Hong Kong SAR. I am Mary, currently studying Tourism and Events management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I love travelling and photographing beauty! However, there are still a lot of fanatic attractions like the diamond in the rough, waiting for someone to explore them. Therefore, I am interested in marketing in the tourism industry to let the world discover them.
With PATA, I have several precious chances to work with outstanding international colleagues and participate in the innovation project. That enhances my teamwork skills and broadens my horizon. I learn plenty of new things that I never tried before.
Even when I failed the task, my colleagues never hesitated to assist and teach me. I grew a lot with PATA. Being 1/42 at PATA HQ, I am honoured and grateful.
Elena Leparova – Youth Intern
Hello everyone! My name is Elena, and I am a graduate of Vitality and Tourism Management at the HZ University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. I have always been fascinated by the Tourism industry and all the ways I could contribute to its development. Tourism is one of the major economic engines in most countries, and its support and progress are vital. That is why I have chosen to become a part of PATA, an organization that gives us the chance to learn from the best teams and get first-hand knowledge on various parts of the industry from its most esteemed representatives. Being an associate to the Youth Ambassador has been an amazing opportunity for me to learn and broaden my horizons, to hone my professional skills and work towards supporting the youths who will one day become part of the industry’s professional force. Working at PATA helped me sharpen my team building skills, research, and communication skills. Having access to the endless resources of the association helped me re-evaluate my professional goals and gave my prospects about my future professional development and career goals.

Through the mastery of tasks and the diversity of topics I experience as an intern, I can develop the skills and competencies necessary to succeed in my future career.
Gayatri Gawde – SIC Intern
Working with the Strategic Intelligence Centre (SIC) of PATA has been a surreal experience for me, as it is helping me gain a profound understanding of tourism and explore its future dimensions, which I was aspiring to do for quite some time. My past experience with Indian Tourism Ministry's' Yuva Tourism Club (a club for young minds in tourism), being a Facilitator for Incredible India Campaign, and several other projects developed my keen interest in Tourism Research & Planning has enabled me to get into this role. Further, the supportive environment at PATA and my patient teammates who value my opinion drive me to deliver on my responsibilities and, thereby, make an impact.
The perspective that I have gathered will help me with the articles, books, and research papers that I am currently working on now and in the future. Being a master’s student of Travel & Tourism Management at Amity University Mumbai, India, I will always cherish this experience.
