PATA Event Carbon Offset Fee

PATA selects carbon offsetting projects in the destinations where the events take place whenever possible to support these communities and invest in local sustainability initiatives. In combination with TGA's ongoing carbon offset efforts across Türkiye, this strengthens the event’s positive environmental impact.

Why take part?

PATA is committed to reducing the carbon emissions of our in-person events. Our Carbon Neutral Events Policy outlines the steps taken to minimise and mitigate the events' footprint.  However, some emissions are unavoidable, such as the flights taken to reach the destination, the electricity consumed, and the waste generated, among other emissions carefully calculated by our Sustainability Team.

For this reason, PATA offsets the unavoidable carbon emissions, as we have done in previous years. But for this, we need your support! With US $10, you help us gather the necessary funds for offsetting PAS's emissions through a carbon offset project.

In what project will PAS 2025 be offset?

The Kinik Wind Power Plant, located in Türkiye’s İzmir province, generates approximately 165,000 MWh of clean electricity annually. By replacing fossil fuel-generated power with wind energy, the project reduces emissions by an estimated 90,000 metric tons CO₂-equivalent each year. This supports Türkiye’s growing energy demands with low-carbon technology while reducing the country’s reliance on imported natural gas for grid electricity, easing the economic burden.

Beyond its environmental impact, the project boosts the local economy by creating jobs and generating income. It employed 130 people during the plant’s construction and provided 15 ongoing roles in maintenance and operations. The production of wind turbine components within Türkiye also promotes knowledge transfer and strengthens the local industrial sector. Beyond these economic benefits, the project has built a well to supply potable water to local communities and grazing animals.
