Forwardkeys APAC Travel Bulletin

Taiwan, 17th May 2023- From May, a total of 500,000 individual overseas visitors will benefit from a lucky draw with prizes of NT$5.000 (US$163) for visiting Taiwan. This initiative, announced by the government in February, has been received with great enthusiasm. Notably, flight searches for international travel to Taiwan have skyrocketed, signalling renewed enthusiasm among travellers worldwide.

This timely initiative aligns with the gradual reopening of global travel, providing travel industry professionals with a valuable tool to promote Taiwan. The potential ripple effect from increased tourism spending is expected to drive economic recovery, generate employment opportunities, and establish Taiwan as a desirable long-term destination.

“I am intrigued to see how this latest travel initiative by the local authorities in Taiwan will unravel in terms of booked tickets,” says Nan Dai, China Market Expert at ForwardKeys.
