Global Tourism Economy Forum: PATA to Join the WTIFC, a High-Level Tourism Investment and Financing Forum to Pave the Way for Better Tourism Recovery and New Development
China – 20 July, 2023 – The 2nd World Tourism Investment & Financing Conference (WTIFC) is to be held on 20th of this September in Macao. As a back-to-back event with Global Tourism Economy Forum (Sept. 21st–23rd), WTIFC is jointly organized by the Global Tourism Economy Research Centre and Ivy Alliance Tourism Consulting, in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization.
WTIFC announced that, as invited officiating guest, the Chairman of PATA, Mr. Peter Semone has confirmed his presence to this year’s WTIFC. PATA’s support to the conference coincides with its consistent commitment, to facilitate partnerships to enhance the value, quality and sustainable growth of travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia Pacific region.
Tourism has been a global force for economic growth and development. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the global tourism sector, pausing the investment and financing to the sector for the past three years. Now investment and financing are becoming ever more important for destinations to boost tourism recovery.
The 2nd Tourism Investment and Financing Conference will focus on “Innovation and high-quality development, tourism investment and cooperation for the next decade” by providing insights on the evolving trends of tourism development. Interesting sessions such as “Dialogue with Tourism Ministers”, “The Insight of President and CEO” and “Identifying Promising Tourism Projects in Different Fields and Making Successful Investment” will address the changes and opportunities throughout tourism industry value chain, identifying rising opportunities in tourism investment post-pandemic and sharing experience in project investment.
The 1st edition of the Conference was successfully launched during GTEF 2019, which attracted hundreds of participants from the tourism investment and financing circle. For this edition, WTIFC is going to host about 400 participants, covering officials from various countries, Chinese provinces and cities, including Hong Kong and Macao; leaders from investment promotion agencies, investment funds, tourism investment groups, investment banks and financial institutions; in addition, tourism project developers, and other related enterprises are expected to attend the event as well.
This conference will also provide rare opportunities in exchange and cooperation for tourism destinations, tour operators, investment institutions, and related companies in the tourism industry chain.
