11 April 2024 – Message to PATA Members from the PATA Chinese Taipei Chapter

To all PATA members:

The magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit Chinese Taipei, on April 3rd, Wednesday morning, just as our Tombsweeping Holiday was beginning. We thank PATA headquarters and the greater PATA community for your concern and support at this critical time. 

Centered 18 km from Hualien City, the quake has caused a death toll of 13, with 1,145 injured. We continue to search for 6 people that remain missing. Our islands have been very fortunate in being well-prepared, limiting destruction and loss of life. 

We appreciate your concern and reassure you also, that our chapter’s members are all safe, and that our businesses are fully-operational. We are thankful and look forward to being in touch. Please continue to visit Chinese Taipei!
