PATA India Christ University Student Chapter Event: "FOLKLORE FESTA 2022"
Bangalore, India, September 16, 2022 – PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter organized Folklore day, connecting with World Folklore day. The program’s objective was to commemorate and highlight the unique folk culture of our country. The entire student community of the Department of Tourism Management, Christ University, came together for the celebration.
Undergraduate and postgraduate classes of the department were given a state of India and had to represent the folk traditions. The states represented were Jammu Kashmir, Maharashtra, Kerala, Assam, and Rajasthan.
The event started with folk dance performances of all the classes at the entrance of the Auditorium block of the campus, where students had also put up exhibitions in all the given states. The exhibition stalls were highlighted on the food, festival, monuments, etc. After the dance performances, all the students were taken to the mini auditorium, where the remaining part of the celebration took place, which included a cultural walk, Skit, and personality walk. The event was conducted successfully, with all the students enjoying and learning about our country’s various folk and cultures.

Founded in 2020, PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter is India’s first PATA Student Chapter. The organization is run by students of the tourism discipline of CHRIST (Deemed to be a University) to benefit more than 250 members spanning undergraduate and postgraduate tourism programs in the university. The members are encouraged to participate in activities hosted by the chapter, focusing on various industry concerns, including sustainability and industry development.
