PATA India Christ University Student Chapter: Titan Industry Visit
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 15th July 2023 — PATA India Christ Universty Student Chapter in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Management at Christ (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, organized an industry visit to Titan Company Limited's manufacturing unit in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The visit took place on July 15, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, providing students with a unique opportunity to gain insights into the operational dynamics of a leading watch manufacturing facility.
The visit was guided by Mrs. Lakshmi Priya and included 47 students from the final year of Masters in Tourism and Travel Management, in collaboration with BBA Honours final year students. The participants were introduced to the intricacies of Titan's manufacturing processes and had the chance to observe the production of mechanical and analogue watches.
Mr. Francis, Area Production Manager at Titan Company Limited, who is also a Christ University alumnus, led the session titled "An Exposure to the Particulars of the Titan Manufacturing Unit." Mr Francis shared his professional journey and discussed the company’s commitment to safety, innovation, and quality. He highlighted Titan's advanced technological systems used for manufacturing, assembling, and storing watches, emphasizing the unit's capacity to produce 600,000 products per month.
The visit included a comprehensive tour of the factory, showcasing the various stages of watch production—from dial manufacturing to gear assembly. Students learned about the high-security measures and healthcare facilities provided for Titan employees, ensuring their safety in hazardous working conditions.
Following the tour, students gathered in a seminar hall for an interactive session with Mr. Francis. He discussed professionalism, discipline, and passion, inspiring students with his experience and dedication to the industry. The session also featured group discussions on effective communication and management skills essential for a successful career in any industry.
The day concluded with a visit to Titan's retail shop division, where students explored and purchased discounted products. The experience provided a hands-on understanding of the retail aspect of the business.

Founded in 2020, PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter is India’s first PATA Student Chapter. The organization is run by students of the tourism discipline of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) to benefit more than 250 members spanning across undergraduate and postgraduate tourism programmes in the university.
