PATA Vietnam RMIT Student Chapter: Bringing back the green for RMIT Vietnam’s 20th anniversary

Hanoi, Vietnam, 8th February, 2021 - Representing PATA Vietnam RMIT Student Chapter, RMIT Tourism and Hospitality (THM) Club, in collaboration with RMIT Charity & Environment (CEC) Club in Hanoi, had held the meaningful “GreenEdge” event to mark RMIT Vietnam’s 20th anniversary. This event was organized to raise people's understanding of environmental protection, which starts from the smallest action - picking up trash in RMIT's surroundings. The total number of participants was around 40, coming from both RMIT staff and students.

Acknowledging the alarming problem of landfills in Vietnam, THM and CEC have a desire to make our country cleaner, though it was just a small contribution. Therefore, GreenEdge was aimed at educating students and the bigger community on how to correctly and efficiently protect the Earth. Prior to the event, information on trash and recycling was provided, namely clarification of trash, how to pick up trash, safety measurements... This not only prepares participants with sufficient knowledge before getting to practical work but also fosters their environmental awareness in real life.
