Orangutans have experienced a devastating decline of more than 50% over the last two decades. Their habitat has been seriously threatened by illegal hunting, logging, and deforestation from the palm oil industry. How then, can tourism help save the orangutan?

UNWTO is inviting public and private stakeholders from around the world to take part in a Global Survey of Climate Action in Tourism and help identify frontrunning initiatives and opportunities to accelerate climate action in tourism. Launched on World Environment Day, the survey aims to support the ongoing efforts of the sector to reduce its environmental impacts and carbon emissions, as well as to strengthen its capacity to adapt to a changing climate.

March 8 is International Women's Day, celebrated globally and annually to acknowledge the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This year's campaign theme of #ChooseToChallenge encourages people of all genders to show their commitment to building an inclusive world.

The PATA Youth workshop, ‘How to Successfully Market Your PATA Student Chapter,’ was held online on January 27, and over 30 participants from PATA Student Chapters all over the world gathered despite the time difference. The speaker was Carma Chan, PATA’s Social Media Manager, who had once been a Student Chapter Leader. Participants were required to submit their homework of creating a social media post or writing an event description prior to the workshop.
