ECOTOPIA 2021 WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
Bangalore, India, 5th June 2021 - The pandemic that the world has been dealing with for almost 1.5 years has shown how disastrous the consequences of ecosystem loss can be. In this unprecedented time, PATA India Christ University Student Chapter initiated the event named “ECOTOPIA” - an event to encourage worldwide awareness and action to protect the environment. The theme for World Environment Day 2021 is “Reimage. Recreate. Restore.”
The event saw Sandeep Talwar who is the Managing Owner of TraDek judging for the competitions: No Justice, No Green and Octavia, and Mayuresh Poojari, a Graphic Designer, being our judge for the competition Arlie’s Sword.
Keeping up with the theme, the event was divided into three competitions, namely: Octavia (Photography), No Justice, No Green (Article Writing), and Arlie’s Sword (Poster Making). This 2-day program on June 5th & 6th aimed to bring forth international experts at the forefront to judge these events to test student’s knowledge, creativity, and presence. They acknowledge the key issues and spread awareness about the environment.
Day one focused on the two competitions, Octavia and No Justice, No Green, wherein the students portrayed their passion and enthusiasm in their works. The first competition Octavia spreads a pure essence of hardship that is passed from a painter whose brush sways in clear realism. This event is all about photography, where individuals click pictures and show us some dust of reality. The second competition No Justice, No Green is a spell that can be powerful only when it is in its pure form. The participants were asked to write an article wherein they could find solutions to the problems our earth faces.
Day two focused on the third competition, Arlie's Sword, where the participants were asked to flaunt their creativity with the art of poster making. Pictures speak more than words do, so does an individual’s passion. The young students gained a lot from the event and the enthusiastic participation received is an encouraging reminder of the way that the environment that is thought of diminishing with time will evolve dramatically under the leadership of the dynamic youth.
Ecotopia was a wonderful opportunity that facilitated the importance of the environment and active levels of creativity as well as participation.
