Talent Basket, the co-host of the event, acts as a virtual workplace, which helps students get online internships globally, providing them free education on skills they will need to enter the global workforce of the future. After a brief introduction of Talent Basket, JC Wong (Talent Basket program and content director) talked about the digital trends in the tourism industry that are changing the workspace and challenging future tourism practitioners. Further, she addressed the role of young professionals, the challenges they may face on their career path and provided advices on how to embrace them. The participants learned about practical tips, such as how to set up for interviews, why it is important to engage in organizations and network and why the internships can be a very beneficial tool for students to gain experiences and get to know the work market.

A total of 25 participants learned about the opportunities and benefits that internships can have in the development of their careers. Certainly, the future workspace will be different and will require innovative approach by the industry itself and by all the engaged professionals. We could say that the topics covered in this event and discussion included the aims of the Sustainable Development Goals: 4 - Quality Education, 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 9 - Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

The rapid changes we are living at the moment force us to constantly adapt and embrace the new situations we come across. Therefore, internships can be a great opportunity to get to know and recognise which career path one would like to pursue. As future tourism professionals, we need to make good use of our potentials and contribute our best to the tourism industry in this digital future that awaits us.
