Kathmandu, Nepal, 10th January, 2021 - PATA Nepal Student Chapter formed a new executive committee with the chairpersonship of Ms. Rejina Upreti (a student representing Global College International) in a virtual election on Sunday 10th January 2020. Ms. Upreti got elected as the new chairperson among the four candidates who stood up for this position. She succeeds Mr. Surendra Neupane, who was elected as the chairman on 31 March 2019 and remains in the committee as the immediate past chairperson. Similarly, Mr. Suresh Singh Budal, CEO of PATA Nepal Chapter, remains as Advisor to the Student Chapter.

The newly elected committee consists of 24 Members including Chairperson Ms. Rejina Upreti from (GCI), Vice-Chairperson Mr. Pukar Bhandari (KATH), Secretary Ms. Anusha Khatiwada (MVIC), Treasurer Ms. Prakriti Ghimire (NATHM), Education & Training Coordinator Mr. Ashutosh Acharya (MVIC), Events, Sponsorship & Fund Raising Coordinator Ms. Priya Dhaubanjar (GCI), PR & Marketing Coordinator Ms. Bijita Shakya (NATHM), Membership Coordinator Ms. Dipeshna Hamal. Other Executive Committee Members include Ms. Prahima Rana (IST), Mr. Bishnu Chaudhary (IST), Ms. Jeena Basnet (ABC), Mr. Prawin Tamang (ABC) Mr. Prateek Ratna Tuladhar (GATE), Ms. Bibisha Dhakal (PHS), Mr. Avishek Bhujel (PHS), Ms. Sanjika Rasaili (Gateway), Ms. Sapana Mashrangi (Gateway), Mr. Nipesh Baral (NCTTM), Ms. Yanji Sherpa (NCTTM), Ms. Purna Shova Maharjan (KATH), Mr. Swopnil Karanjeet (LACM), Ms. Aakriti Rajya Laxmi Raut (LACM), Ms. Faiza Banu (SMSHM) and Ms. Ojashwi Kakshapati (SMSHM).

The Chairperson Selection Committee comprising of Mr. Bibhuti Chand Thakur (Chairman- PATA Nepal Chapter), Mr. Abdullah Tuncer Kececi (Executive Member- PATA Nepal Chapter), Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi (Professional Member- PATA Nepal Chapter) evaluated the candidacy pitching, and the chairperson elected by the votes from the student chapter EC Members. Mr. Bibhuti Chand Thakur congratulated the entire team and praised the role of the student chapter in every campaigns and program of PATA Nepal Chapter in the past. He said, “I am confident you will raise Nepal's flag high in the International arena and play an instrumental role in line with the spirit of PATA for promoting sustainable tourism development initiatives in the country.”

The newly elected chairperson, Ms. Rejina Upreti said, "It is a golden opportunity to be involved in PATA, and getting the position has come ahead with lots of responsibilities to uplift the Student Chapter's flag high! We, the entire team, would involve in tourism recovery, promotion, and development initiatives of our nation, together in collaboration with national and international PATA networks and platforms.

PATA Nepal Student Chapter refers to a group of students who are interested in Travel & Tourism and studying at a Tourism and Hospitality Management College in Nepal which is a PATA Nepal Chapter Member.
