PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter: Welcome Party For 24/25 Term
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 18th June 2024 - On Friday, the 14th, PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter organized a Welcome Party for the term of 2024/2025. We did the event at one of the School of Hospitality and Tourism’s classrooms. We invited lecturers from our department and a few students who are non-members too. The aim of organizing this Welcome Party was to get-in-touch with the members, give more exposure about PATA to the members and non-members and to let the newly appointed Chairperson, Nur Izeyan, to share her experience in PATA Annual Summit 2024.
We started off with a group photo session and cake-cutting with the lecturers and members. Everyone was cooling down with a lovely Tiramisu cake, a snack and a drink in their hand.
We then proceed with the PAS’24 journey sharing session by the Chairperson, Nur Izeyan. She shared her experiences based on these elements; (1) Self-Introduction, (2) What was your trip like? (From flight to accommodation), (3) What kind of expectations did you have before attending PAS 2024and did the event meet your expectations?, (4) What was the best part of the event?, (5) Who did you meet that struck you the most during the event?, (6) How would this experience help you in your future career?, (7) What key takeaways did you get from the event?, (8) Would you recommend fellow students to apply for future sponsorships?, (9) Thank you message to the sponsors (PATA Thailand Chapter and Macao University of Tourism) and (10) Last word that you want to say to the industry for support (Possible future sponsors).
After that, we proceed with the general details and upcoming activities plan of PATAMHUSC 24/25 Term. This session was mainly presented by the Vice-Chairperson, Ye Htet Aung. He explained things based on these elements, (1) What is PATA, (2) What does it mean to join PATAMHUSC, (3) Perks of being a member of PATA Youth, (4) Past activities, (5) Executive members positions and their roles, (6) How to decide on an event, (7) Future activity plan, (8) PAS’22 PATAMHUSC representative, and (9) PAS’24 PATAMHUSC representative.
We were glad that we had this Welcome Party. Now, everyone managed to gain new information and knowledge about PATA and PATAMHUSC. We hope that our student chapter will be able to grow further, be able to give members endless opportunities, be able to attract more students from other majors to join our club and will be able to grow the number of our members consistently.
